Recently I reintroduced my Heroes Among Us project. Heroes Among Us shares the stories of the individuals and organizations who lift and inspire others through their extraordinary and selfless acts.
This week’s hero is Jeri Dye Lynch founder of The Conor Lynch Foundation.
On October 19, 2010 the lives of Mark Lynch and Jeri Dye Lynch changed forever. On this day their son, Conor Lynch, was training with his Notre Dame High School cross country team when he was killed by a distracted, unlicensed, hit-and-run driver.
Conor was an avid athlete, had a passion for learning, and was a respected role model to his friends, classmates, and two younger brothers, Riley and Parker. Conor was just 16-years old.
Out of this tragedy, Jeri founded The Conor Lynch Foundation. Jeri has become a leading voice in the conversation and movement around pedestrian and driver safety. She has advocated both locally and nationally to bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving. She participates in the Steering Committee for LA Walks and the Advisory Committee for We Save Lives. In 2015, she was an honored recipient of the Pioneer Women Awards for being a woman of influence leading the way in making the streets of Los Angeles a safer place for everyone.

Heroes Among Us is based on a simple idea: shine a spotlight on the individuals and organizations that are making a difference in our communities and inspiring others through their extraordinary work and selfless acts. I need your help. I need you to point me to these heroes via the Heroes Among Us page so I can share their stories.
Until next time,
